Have everyone select a three-digit number that does not
start and end with the same number (e.g., 363 will not work)--360 will be
my example. Write that number:
360
Reverse the number and subtract the smaller number
from the larger number:

- 063 |
(the reverse of 360) |
|
The sum is |
297 |
|
|
|
Use the sum (297) and reverse that number.
Then add those two numbers together:

The answer for everyone, no matter what number anyone
starts with, will be 1089. |
